Harold Orr Edgington Jr., 65, of Brookeland, passed away Thursday, Jan. 3, 2008 at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Houston. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, Jan.  7 in the Chapel of Dorman Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be Barry Jones and Mickey McNamara with the 9th and Elm Church of Christ in Orange. Military Honors will be provided by the Southeast Texas Veterans Service Group. Graveside services will be at 3:00 p.m. Monday at the Brookeland Cemetery in Brookeland with additional military honors to be provided by the United States Air Force from the Barksdale Air Force Base in Shreveport, LA.  Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Born on June 26, 1942 in Corpus Christi to Harold Orr Edgington Sr. and Abbie Ovel (Duncan) Edgington, he was a longtime resident of the Orange area, lived in Brooklyn for the past 5 years. He worked as a laborer in the Oilfield and Construction Industries. Mr.Edgington was a minister at the Brookeland Church of Christ and a former elder at the Ninth and Elm Church of Christ in Orange. He enjoyed saltwater fishing, sports and spending time with his family. He had also been a Golden Gloves Boxer and a veteran of the United States Air Force. 

He is preceded in death by his parents; his brother, George Edgington; his daughter, Helen Miller and his grandsons, Cody and Joseph Harvey.
He is survived by his wife, Margie Lee Edgington of Brookeland; sons, Harold Orr Edgington III and wife Kasondra of Orange and Thomas Harold Edgington of Brookeland; daughter, Celeste Lee Breaux and husband Gerald Anthony of Starks, LA; brothers, Ron Harold Edgington Sr. and wife Norma of Huntsville and Henry Elbert Edgington of Waco; Seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Harold Orr Edgington III, Thomas Harold Edgington, Michael Riley, Gerald Breaux, Shawn Mere and Chad Ferguson. Honorary pallbearers will be Harold Orr Edgington IV and Ron O’Neal Edgington.
