Southeast Texas Arts Council Plans February Fundraiser
Beaumont, TX – The Southeast Texas Arts Council’s 2008 fundraiser titled, A Heart for the Arts, a Valentine’s dessert reception and will be held at Suga’s Deep South Cuisine and Jazz Bar in Beaumont, on Sunday, February 10, 2008 from 6 – 8 p.m.  This evening enchanted with warm candlelight, beautiful red roses, and sparkling champagne is set to not only capture and celebrate the passion of the local arts but to also recognize excellence in the arts and humanities.  The reception will entail award announcements and an exciting silent auction packed with product and service donations from numerous local vendors.
“This event was such a success last year that we are hoping the second year will be even better. It gives us a chance to sincerely thank our supporters.  We are hoping to create a truly, relaxed yet classy evening for them with A Heart for the Arts.  From the sheer atmosphere of Suga’s to the fabulous items offered in the silent auction, this fundraiser is going to be quite the soiree,” states Kim Moncla, executive director of the SETAC. 
The award recipients are chosen by SETAC’s board of directors based on member nominations that were placed in late 2007.  The awards to be given include: 
·         Outstanding Supporter of the Arts/Humanities by a Large Corporation
·         Outstanding Supporter of the Arts/Humanities by a Small Business
·         Outstanding Arts/Humanities Project/Program
·         Outstanding Achievement by an Arts/Humanities Organization
·         Outstanding Achievement by an Arts/Humanities Volunteer
·         Outstanding Achievement by an Artist
·         Outstanding Supporter of the Arts/Humanities by the Media
Among the awards announcements, a silent auction will be held throughout the evening that will be comprised of fun-filled, themed gift baskets. The auction will be made possible by the generous local vendors of Southeast Texas and will begin at the start of reception.
