Edna Mae Peet Head, 92, of Orange passed away, Sunday, Feb. 9, 2008 in Orange.

Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 12, at Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Orange. Officiating will be Bill Collett of West Orange Church of Christ and Rev. Keith Royal of Winfree Baptist in Orange. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Orange.

Visitation will be on Monday, Feb. 11, from 6:00-9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Edna was born in Nome on Dec. 23, 1915 to David P. and Mattie (Stanfield) Peet. She worked as a floral designer for Fuller Funeral Home and Heaven Sent for 40 years.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Vertice Head; Sister, Effie Parish; brothers, Buster Peet, Gene Nance; and mother, Mattie Meadows.

Edna is survived by her daughters, Jeleta Miles and husband George, Verlene Hammett and husband Jerry; and son, Vertice Lynn Head and wife Tiny all of Orange. Also surviving her are thirteen grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jerry L. Hammett, David Barnes, Lyndon Armstrong, Darren Tice, Jalon Barnes and Eric Hammett. Honorary pallbearers will be Donald, Jack, and Louis Nance.

The family wishes to send a special thanks to Christi, Linda, Shelly and Odyssey Hospice for the love and care you gave their mother.
