The Orangefield High School CX Policy Debate Team attended the District Contest at Bridge City High School Saturday, February 9. 
The team of Matthew Squires and Caleb Smith had 4 wins and 0 losses.  The team of Elana Newell and Jennifer Garrison also had 4 wins and 0 losses. 
Based on speaker points given by the judges for tie breakers, Squires and Smith took the gold medals for first place, while Newell and Garrison took the silver medals for second place. 
Both teams will compete at the State CX Policy Debate Contest in Austin.  Taking first and second place at the District contest gives Orangefield 36 points to start the UIL District Academic Contest.
