Verna Mae Johnson of Port Arthur passed away on Monday, March 3, 2008 at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas in Port Arthur at the age of 92.

She was born in Scott, La. on Sept. 7, 1915 to Daisy LeBlanc Domingue and Oscar Domingue. Verna has been a resident of Port Arthur since the 1930’s. She was a homemaker and a member of St. James Catholic Church, where she also served as a Member of the Altar Society.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, March 4, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 5 in the Thompson Memorial Chapel at Clayton Thompson with Rev. Don Donahugh, officiating. Entombment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Serving as pallbearers will be Gary Stelly, Kevin Johnson, Jade Fontenot, Cory Stelly, Larry Snyder and Bobby Kibbe.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Monte E. Johnson and her son, James R. Johnson.
She is survived by her daughters, Pam Johnson Stelly, Pat Johnson Kibbe and husband Bobby, Ann Johnson Snyder and husband Larry, Lynn Johnson Radcliffe and husband Brian along with grandchildren, Gary Stelly and wife Angie, Monte Kevin Johnson, Jade Fontenot, Cory Stelly, Michelle Lynn Anders and Kerri L. Brandt along with great-grandchildren, Jonathan and Lexi.
