Star Charity Pageant System is pleased to announce its next major event: the Texas Star Charity Beauty Pageant and Concert. This event will be held on June 21 at the Mauriceville Elementary School located at 20040 FM 1130.  Entries are being accepted now through June 2nd.  No late entries will be accepted.

            There are 12 different age divisions from babies up to adult. There are separate divisions for boys and girls as well as the mothers. This year’s awards will include crowns up to 9 ½ inches tall, trophies up to 42 inches high, plaques, sashes, gifts, and much more. No contestant will leave empty handed, and all contestants will receive a tiara.

            For ages 0-14 years,  attire is a formal or nice dress. Ages 15 and up will compete in formal, western wear, and interview.  Competition times vary depending on the age of the contestant.

            The charity chosen for this year’s event is the family of Angela Brown. Angela, 12 years old, resides in Mauriceville.  She is a victim of a rare genetic disorder called Scwachman-Diamond Syndrome.  It affects many organs of the body. Angela has already had both a bone marrow and a liver transplant.

            At 12:00 the band Our Left Shoe will play. The band will donate 40% of all sales of their music to the family. Entry to the pageant is $5 and the concert is free.

            Contestants are urged to sell $50 Wal-Mart raffle tickets to help pay entry fees and help the Brown family.
