Jewel Olene Cowling, 87, of Orange, died Friday, March 14, 2008, at Loving Care Private Care Facility.
Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, with the Rev. Rob Fisher, pastor of First United Methodist Church in Orange, officiating.
Visitation will begin at 7:00 p.m. Monday at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
Mrs. Cowling was born in Cedar Hill, Tenn. on Sept. 13, 1920, the daughter of Robert and Pearl Pitt.
She was a former resident of Bryan, had lived in Orange for the past year and a half and was a member of First United Methodist Church.
While living in Bryan, she was a volunteer at St. Joseph Hospital with over 10,000 volunteer hours.
Preceded in death by her parents, and husband, Dewey Cowling, she is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Ron and Sue Cowling of Orange, Marty and Sherry Cowling of Germany; sister and brother-in-law, Mabel and Robby Fowler of Longview; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
