Employers with full- and/or part-time cooperative education programs and internships, as well as employment opportunities, are invited to attend the annual Lamar State College-Orange Job Fair.
The event is scheduled for Tuesday, April 29, 2008 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. in the Student Center. No admission fee is charged, but booth space is limited. Participants may reserve tables by calling Judy Choate, event coordinator, at 409-882-3379 or e-mail judy.choate@lsco.edu
The fair is open to current students and alumni of all majors, and they will have the opportunity to meet and network with numerous area employers.
More than 25 booths have already been reserved. Employers will have ample time and space to discuss career opportunities with technical and associate degree students and graduates. Job seekers may want to bring their resumes with them since some employers will be interviewing at the job fair, eliminating the need to schedule interviews at some other time.
Employers may also use the job fair to distribute job applications so prospective candidates may complete them that day, thus not burdening current personnel or disrupting daily business.
“Participating employers will benefit from cost-effective recruiting, maximum visibility and the ability to network and obtain knowledge of available training programs,” said Choate. “They will also gain access to qualified minority, traditional, non-traditional and special population candidates.”
Choate may also be contacted via fax at 409-882-3049 or e-mail at Judy.Choate@lsco.edu.
