Dora Florence McKinney, 68, of Orange, passed away Saturday, March 29, 2008 in Orange. Funeral services will be at 3:00 P.M. Tuesday, April 1, 2008 in the Chapel of Dorman Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be Brother John Fortenberry, pastor of the Calvary Baptist Church in Deweyville. Interment will follow services in Orange Forest Lawn Cemetery in West Orange. A gathering of family and friends will be from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Born on September 1, 1939 in Monte Alto, Texas to George and Myrtle (Hutchins) McDaniel, she was a longtime resident of the Orange area, worked as a Licensed Vocational Nurse for the Cresthaven Nursing Home in Groves. Ms. McKinney was a terrific mother, nurturer, she loved all living things and was very kind and compassionate always putting others before herself. Nursing was the love of and passion of her life after her family and she loved her puppies Hoppie and Missy.
Ms. McKinney is preceded in death by her parents and those who will most cherish her memory are her children whom she was most proud of, her daughters, Brenda Wilmore, Patricia McKinney and Moriah McKinney all of Orange; son, Allen McKinney and wife Carey of Orange; husband, H. M. McKinney of Jasper, Texas; sister, Shirley Bills and husband Fred of Orange; grandchildren, Ben Wilmore, Matt Wilmore, Sam Wilmore, Sarah Wilmore, Shilo McKinney, Amber McKinney, Hunter McKinney and Dominic McKinney and her great grandchildren, Jake McKinney and Gabriel McKinney. Pallbearers will be Ben Wilmore, Matt Wilmore, Sam Wilmore, Chad Riney, Beau Manuel, T.
