Kindergarten students at Orangefield Elementary welcomed spring with a trip to Shangri La Gardens in Orange.

The students were greeted with a brief "garden skit" and then broke into groups for a day of fun.

Students planted seeds in the greenhouse and then planted flowers and vegetables in the children’s garden. The plants were labeled  so that they will be able to check their progress on future visits.

Wonderful paths of flowers and  turtle lined ponds led to the "bird blind" where the students were lucky enough to observe pink spoonbills and egrets feeding their young.
