Pinehurst businessman Grady Johnson was honored by the West Orange – Cove Board of Trustees recently for his generous service and contribution.
Superintendent Dr. O. Taylor Collins said, “I had the first opportunity to make contact with Mr. Johnson when we began looking for a place to locate the new elementary school.  His enthusiasm, his willingness to facilitate the process, and his great love for our school district was evident throughout that whole process.”
Johnson was the owner of the Pinehurst property on which the District’s new elementary school will be constructed. The District purchased the property in March.
Upon completion of the sale, Johnson made a generous donation to the District.
“His support for what we are doing in this school district to become the best in Texas is just so evident,” Collins said.
