The WO-S High School Mustang Mixed Varsity Choir earned Sweepstakes honors when the 34-member group competed at UIL Concert and Sight Reading held at Baytown Sterling High School April 3.

The choir performed three selections “Jubilance”, “Agnus Dei” and “Fill-a-Me Up” on the concert stage.  The cumulative stage score resulted in a first division rating.

The students competed in the sight reading portion of the competition.  There the choir was asked to sing a selection they had never seen before.  The choir is given an opportunity to read through the music twice.  The second reading is scored by three judges.  The cumulative score for sight reading was also a first division rating.

A sweepstakes trophy was awarded to the WO-S High School Mixed Varsity Choir as a result of receiving 1’s in both areas of the competition.  This is the highest award given at this competition.
