The public is invited to the “2nd Annual Jazz Night Fundraiser” at West Orange – Stark High School Thursday, April 17.

Ray Lavan, WO-S Director of Bands, said the event will share various jazz stylings and establish a foundation and appreciation for jazz music.

“Last year’s event was very, very successful and we are hoping to repeat that success. Everyone that attended really seemed to enjoy it; and they let everyone else that did not attend know that they missed out on something very special. We don’t want anyone to miss out this year,” Lavan said.

Entertainment will be provided by the West Orange – Stark High School Music Faculty with Special Guests, performing together.

The performance group will include Ray Lavan, trumpet; Mickey Smith, saxophone; Stratton Doyle, saxophone; Hamilton Loomis, guitar; Carl Richardson, bass; and Doug Gay, drums.

Additionally, the WO-S High School Jazz Band will perform.

The Jazz Night Fundraiser will be held in the WO-S High School cafeteria at 7 p.m.

Students, parents, band patrons, and community are invited.

Admission will be a donation at the door. Proceeds will benefit the WO-S High School Mighty Mustang Band.
