GOACC Small Business Person of the Year
When the announcement that nominations for the 2008 Small Business person of the Year was made many submissions were offered; however there seemed to be a person that was favored by many in the community.
Shirley Zimmerman, Rose Simar and T.W. Permenter each submitted the same individual based on the evaluation criteria of staying power, growth in number of employees, response to adversity and contributions to aid community- oriented projects.
Robert Ramirez, owner of Robert’s Meat Market & Steakhouse, was deemed an excellent choice by the nomination committee stated Carl Himel, Small Business Person Committee Chairman, through is longevity in business, participation in community/civic events and opening a second business on Simmons Drive.
T.W. Permenter wrote “Robert is continually giving back to his community. He is a tremendous asset to the City of Pinehurst. He continues to expand his business and is always there when called upon.”
Shirley Zimmerman felt Robert was highly deserving of the small business person of the year award. “Robert owns and operates Robert’s Meat Market & Steakhouse, Robert’s Deli and Robert’s Banquet Hall. He helped feed many people during the aftermath of the hurricanes and always donates to many organizations in the community.”
Rose Simar wrote an extensive bio on Robert and his wife, Rebecca, explaining the hard work and long hours spent to make their dream reality. Robert has a work ethic that is rarely seen anymore, he does what ever it takes to get his goals accomplished.’
“Congratulations to Robert Ramirez, his wife Rebecca and all their employees. It is our privilege to honor to you” stated Carl Himel.
