Fun in the Sun at Claiborne
Orangefield Elementary students enjoy a day of fun in the sun at Claiborne Park. For the past several years, the Southeast Texas Resource Conservation & Development (RC&D) has worked with Orange County Parks and the local schools in Orange County on the “March for Parks.” This event is held at Claiborne West Park and gives local students an opportunity to learn about the environment and the natural resources of southeast Texas.
The development of the park is an ongoing project. In conjunction with the “March for Parks” event, teachers and students raise money throughout the year to help with the development of the wetland nature trail located in the park.
