The Orange Sail & Power Squadron held it’s ribbon cutting on May 20, 2008 on the bayou.

The Orange Sail & Power Squadron is one of more than 450 squadrons across the county and in the US territories that make up the world’s largest private, non-profit boating organization, The United States Power Squadron.

Their members are boating families who contribute to their communities by promoting safe boating on the water and in the classroom. This local squadron is also able to inspect boats, and is dedicated to making boating safer and more fun.

They are 42 members strong and meet the 1st Tuesday of each month at the Brown Center at 6:30 pm. The commander of this elite group is Ms. Bettie Becker, you can call her at 670-9418, if you have any questions or would like to join.
