Trinity Lutheran, 1819 N. 16th Street in Orange, is pleased to announce that they are a newly approved Angel Food Ministry host site.  The Angel Food Ministry utilizes the United States Department of Agriculture to provide quality food at low prices.  There are no income requirements or applications to complete.
Trinity will take food orders on the second Tuesday of the month from 10:00 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. beginning June 10.  Payment must be made by money order or the Lone Star Food Program.  Cash or checka  will not be accepted.  A regular unit of food is priced at $30., and special boxes are $20.
The June regular unit of food menu consisits of: 
   1.5 lb. of ribeye steaks
   1.5 lb. hamburger patties
   2 lb. pork riblets
   4 lb chicken leg quarters
   2 lb. breaded chicken tenders
   20 oz. supreme pizza
   1lb. mild Italian sausage
   32 oz. Border 2% reduced fat milk
   6 oz. pancake mix
   15 oz. pork and beans
   14 oz. ketchup
   2 lb. French fries
   16 oz. frozen sliced carrots
   16 oz. frozen mixed vegetables
   7.5 oz. mac and cheese
   1 dozen eggs
   1 dessert item
The special boxes of food consist of: special 1, 6.5 lb. family grill box; special 2, 5 lb. steak and meat combination; and special 3, a 10 lb. box of chicken breast strips.
Food will be distributed on the last Saturday of each month from 8:00 until 9:00 a.m., beginning June 28. 
The Angel Food Ministry is not a money making effort for Trinity.  The money collected goes to the ministry to pay for the cost of the food.  Members of the congregation want to make this service available to the people of Orange regardless of their income.
St. Mark Lutheran Church in Bridge City and McDonald Baptist Memorial Church in Orange are also Angel Food Ministry host sites.
