Kenneth D. Rieck, 83, of Orange, passed away Thursday, May 29, 2008, at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont.
Funeral service will be 3:00 p.m., Sunday, June 1, at Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Orange. Officiating will be Rev. Timothy Dinger. Graveside service will be 1:00 p.m., Monday, June 2, at Grandview Memorial Park in LaPorte. Officiating will be Rev. Alfred Scholz. Visitation will begin at noon on Sunday at the funeral home.

Rieck was born March 23, 1925 in Littleport, Iowa.

Rieck served in the US Army Airborne Infantry as a Master Sergeant. He later worked at DuPont as Construction Superintendent.

He was a member of the Orange VFW. He loved to cook for his friends and family. He was an avid baseball fan of the Astros and Red Sox.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Rieck, brother Billy Kuehl and sister, Lois French.

He is survived by his children, Candice McClead and husband William and Jeffrey J. Rieck and wife Lisa, all of LaPorte; grandchildren, Kenneth McClead, Justin McClung and Ethan Rieck; sister, Linda Glaesene of Iowa; brothers, Curt Kuehl of Houston and Larry Kuehl of Kansas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Serving as pallbearers will be Fred Copeland, Howard Maxwell, Kenneth McClead, Billy Pelt, Ethan Rieck and Noble Wise.
