Darryl Richard Levingston of Kountze passed away peacefully at his home Tuesday, June 10, 2008.

Graveside services were June 13 at Orange Forest Lawn Cemetery. Officiating was the Rev.W.W. Smith of Pinehurst Pentecostal Church.

Born in 1951 in Orange, he was the son of Melvin and Jean (Perkins) Levingston. He graduated from Stark High in 1968 and active in the Future Farmers of America. He attended Lamar University and received his bachelor’s degree in psychology and an associate degree in computer science. Having a passion for computers he worked for IBM in customer service. He enjoyed repairing them as well. His true passion however was raising his prized Dachsund showdogs.He was preceded in death by his father, Melvin Levingston.Survivors include his mother, Jean Levingston; brother Dudley Levingston and wife Linda; nephews Christopher Levingston and David Levingston, all of Orange; aunt, Hester Perkins and family; cousins Leslyee Gautreaux, Michelle Belcher, Brad Prejean and families, Jerry Barron and husband George and Gay Cormier and husband Joey.
