Jonathan Minchew, 18, of Orange, died Tuesday, June 17, 2008 in Orange. Funeral services were Saturday, June 21, in  Dorman Funeral Home. Bishop Derry Dunn officiated, with interment in Autumn Oaks Memorial Park in the McLewis Community.

Born March 22, 1990 in Orange to Brent Wade and Rosalee Carol (Haas) Minchew, he was a lifelong resident of the Orange area and had recently worked as a maintenance worker for the Orange Housing Authority by way of Powerzone in Orange. Throughout his life, Jonathan enjoyed gardening of both roses and vegetables, spending time camping and sitting next to a campfire, he enjoyed spending time outdoors, fishing and traveling. Jonathan was greatly looking forward to the arrival of his son, Jonathan Thurl Minchew Jr., due to arrive in September. Jonathan was also very protective of his family and enjoyed teasing the people he loved.

Jonathan is preceded in death by his aunt, Cindy Minchew who passed away in 1980.

Survivors include his fiancée, Dezerae Campbell of Orange; father, Brent W. Minchew Sr. of Orange; mother, Rosalee Haas of Orange; sister, Cynthia Minchew of Orange; brother, Brent W. Minchew Jr. of Orange; maternal grandparents, Jack and Betty Haas of Sioux Narrows, Ontario, Canada; paternal grandparents, Thurl and Karen Minchew of Orange; aunts, Beverly Williams, Beth Haas, Joyce Cunningham and husband Pat and Mary Kay Berndt; uncles, John Haas, David Minchew and Carey Minchew; and numerous extended family and friends.
