Doris Christian, 79, of Houston, passed away Monday, July 7, 2008.

Service were July 12 from First Baptist Church of Mauriceville. The Revs. Johnny Brady and Kevin Brown officiated. Interment was in Kirbyville City Cemetery.

Born in Mauriceville on Aug. 9, 1928, to Grady Prentis and Silsbee Ora Warrell Tillery, she was a member of First Baptist Church of Mauriceville and retired from Channelview ISD after 25 years. Doris also attended Fellowship of the Nations in Houston.

She was preceded in death by her husband, B.F. “Bo” Christian; and sister, Mildred Pineda.

Survivors include her children, Dianne McGee of Houston, Tillery McGee and wife Lori also of Houston; Gary Christian and wife Nancy of Huntsville; and Theresa Ellis and husband Howard Ellis of Coppell, Texas; nine grandchildren and nephews Rick Pineda and Steve Pineda.

Pallbearers include Tommy Burton, Johnny Ray Smith, Steve Pineda, Rick Pineda, Brandon McGee and Colt Christian.

Honorary pallbearers will be Tommy Perry and A.J. Brown.

Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Mauriceville Building Fund, the family said.
