Cypress-Mauriceville School District departments and campuses will not be

closed on Tuesday, but staff has been instructed that if the storm does hit

Orange on Tuesday morning, that they should wait until the bad weather passes

before reporting to work.  If the path changes, and the weather is not

bad, they should report to work.  If electricity is lost, offices will not

open until it is restored.

Attention all Lamar State College-Orange faculty, staff

and students: LSC-O will be closed on Tuesday, August 5, 2008, due to

severe weather conditions from Tropical Storm Edouard.  The campus plans

to reopen on Wednesday, August 6, 2008.  Please stay tuned to local news

updates and refer to the college web sites,

employees and students should receive updates via the Connect-ED system on

their home and cellular phones.

Orange County Judge, Carl Thibodeaux, has announced the

courthouse will be will be closed due to Tropical Storm Edouard, on

Tuesday, August 5th except for essential personnel called by the Emergency

Management Coordinate, Jeff Kelley. 

All county offices are to report back to work on Wednesday, August 6th,

at regular business hours.

Houston VA Medical Center Cancels Aug. 5 Morning Appointments

 In response to the projected path of Tropical Storm Edouard, the Houston VA Medical Center is canceling outpatient clinic appointments scheduled for the morning of Tuesday, Aug. 5. Appointments after 12 noon on Aug. 5 will be kept. In addition, the Texas City and Galveston VA Clinics will close the entire day. Patients impacted by the cancellations will be contacted and rescheduled as soon as possible.  The VA outpatient clinics in Beaumont, Conroe, and Lufkin, will be open for regular operations on Aug. 5.
All VA medical center and outpatient clinic staff should report for their normal tour of duty, using proper precautions for personal safety.
Veterans in need of medical advice should call the VA Telecare Center at (713) 794-8985 or toll-free 1-800-639-5137. Registered nurses, pharmacists, and administrative clerks at the VA Telecare Center are ready to answer veteran health care questions 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The VA Telecare Center is not for life-threatening emergencies. Veterans with life-threatening emergencies should immediately call 911.
