James Edward Murphy, 23, of Deweyville, passed away Monday, August 11, 2008 in Orange.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, August 14, 2008 in the Chapel of Dorman Funeral Home in Orange. Interment will follow at the Deweyville Cemetery in Deweyville.

Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Born on August 29, 1984 in Lake Charles, Louisiana to Peter James and Linda Faye (Henley) Murphy, he was a longtime resident of Deweyville and he worked as a carpenter in the construction industry.

James is preceded in death by his father and his maternal grandparents, Gilbert and Lillie Fontenot.

He is survived by his mother, Linda Murphy of Orange; sister, Lillie Cavazos and her husband Sal of Orange; aunt, Wanda Motley of Omaha, Texas; uncles, Jay Henley and his wife Carrie of Orange, Edward Henley and his wife Susie of Silsbee, Allen Shue and his wife Janet of Mauriceville and John Fontenot and his wife Donna of Bastrop, Texas; niece, Heather Stanley of Orange; nephew, L. C. Hughes and his wife Michelle of Orange; cousin, D. J. Henley and his wife Vicki and their children of Buna and his great niece, Sapphire Hughes of Orange.
