The council chambers at city hall was filled with friends and co-workers of Steve Faircloth who came to wish him well as he begins retirement after his years of faithful service to this community.

Faircloth was pleased that so many had taken time out of their schedules to stop by and visit and have refreshements with him.

Visitors from the law enforcement community included Texas Rangers and other police chiefs. Included in that group were  his predecessors Andy Verrett and John Tarver.

Mayor Kirk Roccaforte presented him with a shadow box frame containing his badge and other symbols of office. Also in the frame was a pair of handcuffs.

The mayor thanked Faircloth for the effort he had put into the job in making Bridge City a safe place to live and for bringing a high standard of professionalism to the police department.

Faircloth was visibly moved and appreciative of all the thanks and good wishes for the future that he received at his farewell.
