Fred Joseph Fusilier, 83, of Orangefield, died Saturday, August 30, 2008, at Memorial Hermann Baptist Beaumont Hospital.

Services were Friday, Sept. 5, from Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Interment was in Orange Forest Lawn Cemetery in West Orange. A rosary was said Thursday, Sept. 4.

Born June 28, 1925, in Basile, La., to Adam Joseph and Olive (Bertrand) Fusilier Sr., he served in both the Navy and Air Force during World War II. He retired from DuPont where he worked as a pipefitter and was a member of Pipefitters Local 195 in Beaumont for 55 years.

He was preceded in death by his son, Fred Joseph Fusilier II.

He is survived by his sons and daughter, Kenneth Fusilier of Beaumont, Steven Fusilier of Maine, Sindy Roseatt of Hutto, Texas; and Jamie Fusilier of Mississippi; three grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; and brother, Adam “Speedy” Fusilier and wife Delores “Aunt Dee” of Orangefield.

Serving as pallbearers were Jackie Cormier, David Fusilier, Michael LeDoux, Edward Scales, David LeDoux and Bryan Fusilier.
