The annual Labor Day Picnic in Pinehurst that was postponed due to the evacuation for Hurricane Gustav has been rescheduled for Sept. 20. The former Bancroft elementary school on 41st street in Pinehurst is still the location.

Registration and music will start at approximately 10 a.m. 

Everyone is invited, but only senior citizens are eligible to win door prizes which have been donated by area businesses.

Jay Trahan and Cajun Jam will provide the music.

The meal, furnished by Robert’s meat market and steak house, will be served at approximately 11:00 a.m. Desserts will be furnished by Sweet Temptations. 

The entire cost of the picnic has been underwritten by donations from area businesses and local merchants.

A shuttle service will be provided from the Dupont Credit Union parking lot to and from the picnic.
