The women’s varsity team at Community Christian School beat their arch rivals, Ridgewood Lions of Port Arthur, in a fierce competition at CCS. In the first district meet of the season, CCS won three out of five games, 25-19, 25-10, and 25-8.

Play included 23 aces: six from the freshman right side hitter, Lauren Parrish, and five each from sophomore outside hitter Josie Jay, the setter, senior Jessica Jay, and Heather Battise, a senior and outside hitter. Jessica also provided 19 assists.

Josie Jay and Mallori Parrish, sophomore middle blocker, led the team in seven kills each for a total team effort of 21 kills. Josie also made thirteen digs and Mallori twelve.
