This past month the board of directors of Orange Savings Bank elected Stephen Lee to the position of chief executive officer and president. Lee also serves as a director of the bank. 

Annette Bonnin was elected to senior vice president and chief operations officer.

Lee succeeds Darby Byrd who had served as CEO for ten years. Byrd indicates Lee represents the new generation of local independent bankers. He is dedicated to serving our community, the clients and share holders of the bank. Lee has over fifteen years experience in banking and is focused on serving the Southeast Texas marketplace.

Mr. Lee stated, “I look forward to the opportunity to lead this historic institution and the people that have made it such a valuable part of this community for the past 54 years.” Lee is a native of Orange and is married with two sons. He is a graduate of Lamar University and The Southwestern School of Banking at Southern Methodist University. 

Annette Bonnin brings over thirty years experience in local banking to her position having started her banking career at the former Orange Bank. She has worked in many areas of operations, accounting and lending. Prior to this position assignment she was a consumer/commercial lender and managed the loan accounting and credit areas of the Bank. She is a graduate of West Orange Stark High School. CEO Lee stated Bonnin brings a wealth of knowledge, a commitment to service and an enthusiasm for home town banking to the job. Bonnin, a native of Orange, has a son and daughter both of who reside in the Orange area.

Retiring CEO Darby Byrd will serve as vice chairman of the board and remain a member of the board of directors. Byrd had previously served as president of First City Texas and senior vice president with the former Orange Bank. Byrd stated that while he has enjoyed his thirty years of banking in Orange, he is pleased with Lee‘s leadership and is confident that Orange Savings Bank will continue to be the leading local bank. 

Orange Savings Bank has five locations, over $320 million in assets and is the largest bank in Orange County with a 33% market share of deposits. Mr. Lee added, “Darby has been a tireless leader of the bank and the Orange community for the past 30 years and his presence will assuredly be missed. He has set the bar high.”
