Vidor death under investigation

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of a 58 year old man in Vidor.

After responding to a 911 call around 5:30 p.m., Tuesday, to an address on Buckhorn Street, emergency medical services and sheriff’s deputies found the homeowner, James Bertrand, dead on the scene. Signs of injury were evident and an autopsy has been ordered by Justice of the Peace Rodney Price.

According to Capt. Tommy Smith, the Orange County Criminal Investigations Division is interviewing people present at the home, as well as surrounding area neighbors.

Foul play has not been ruled out. Investigators are awaiting results of the autopsy.
