The United Way of Orange County held a campaign report breakfast, Friday at Cornbreads for volunteers. The breakfast was hosted by ITW Muller with approximately 60 in attendance.

Campaign Chair Shane Johns unveiled the thermometer to show that 44% of their goal has been reached. Many organizations and companies have just started their campaigns and the percentage of goal is expected to increase substantially in the near future.

Hurricane Ike has put the campaign behind about two months, but Mr. Johns expects to reach goal by the end of the first quarter of next year. “The citizens of Orange County are most generous and believe in helping their neighbors and those less fortunate, and I feel that they will do so again this year,” he said.

There will be another report meeting at noon, Friday, Dec. 12,  at the American Red Cross building on Interstate 10.
