Orange author pens children’s book
Orange’s Kimberly Lavigne has teamed with Xlibris publishers to present an educational book designed to teach children the importance of conserving wildlife with the picture book, “Backyard Friends Sing-A-Long.”
Young readers can discover facts about animals such as what they eat, where they live and how many babies they can have, amid colorful illustrations and easy-to-read text.
Lavigne grew up on a farm where she raised rabbits, walked baby goats on leashes and bottle-fed baby cows. She also hatched baby geese that thought she was their mom and followed her everywhere.
She is now a stay-at-home mom who homeschools and incorporates entertaining ways to educate her own children. She has used music to teach her special needs child how to read and write, and uses raising Labrador puppies to teach her children the responsibility of providing good homes for each puppy.
