The Greater Orange Area Chamber of Commerce has named Rebekah Ragsdale Student of the Month for November. 

She is the daughter of Paula and Randy Ragsdale. 

As a senior at West Orange-Stark High School, she has been described as responsible, reliable, trustworthy and hardworking.

Her accomplishments and awards include: Rotary Youth Leadership Award, Stark Reading Contest finalist for three years and second-place winner in 2008, captain of the West Orange-Stark Fillies’ Drill Team, senior class president, District 21-3A All-District Team and Most Valuable Player for 2008 and homecoming football sweetheart 2008. 

Rebekah’s hobbies are softball, reading, watching CNN, playing SIMS and bingo at the Lions Carnival. She plans to attend Galveston College where she will play collegiate level softball.

Rebekah was recognized by Rose Simar of the chamber’s Education Committee and by other members of the chamber as well as Little Cypress-Mauriceville Superintendent Dr. Pauline Hargrove. She received gift certificates from the chamber, cosmetologist Misty Bornholdt-Winder, a drink of choice from the Jumping Bean, and gift baskets from Lamar State College-Orange and Heaven Sent.
