The Little Cypress-Mauriceville Swim Team took top honors at the Manvel High School Christmas Invitational, going up against such schools as Manvel, Katy’s Pope John Paul XXIII High School and Faith West Academy, Pasadena High School, Pasadena Rayburn and Texas City.

For LC-M, sophomore Cassey Brown won both the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:22.39; and the 500-yard freestyle with 6:27.76.

Freshmen Chasity Chapman was 13 in the 50-yard freestyle at 40.58; and 16 in the 100-yard freestyle at 1:31.17.

Sophomore Chelsea Wiszmann was seventh in the 50-yard freestyle and No. 12 in the 100-yard freestyle.

In boys’ competition, Sophomore Alex Dorman won the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 200-yard freestyle, 2:09.19; and took second place in the 500-yard freestyle with 5:54.07.

The Bear swimmers helped with the Manvel Maverick’s community service project by bringing canned goods to help out the Brazoria County Food Bank.

LC-M will next compete Jan. 10 in the  Brazoswood Invitational at the Lake Jackson Recreation Center.
