Cardinal come up short against Hitchcock
In a game that pitted heavily favored Hitchcock versus Bridge City, the Cardinals fell short in a game that was much closer than the score would indicate.
It was 23-16 at the half and Hitchcock banked in a three-pointer and hit another one at the buzzer from way back to push the score up just before the break.
Bridge City drew within four in the last quarter, but poor foul shooting (8 for 21) and the inability to score in the clutch kept the Cards from shocking lots of folks. It was a tremendous effort by a group of guys who left everything they had on the court Friday.
They truly gave it all they had. Coach Knight was elated at his team’s performance. Tanner Girouard finished with 26 and Justin Pittman had 10. Roddrick Gilmore led the way for the Bulldogs with 29 points. BC heads to High Island this Tuesday with the last “tune-up” before district which begins Jan. 16 at home vs. Hardin Jefferson.
