BC worker air lifted to save fingers
Emergency responders requested the help of Southeast Texas Air Rescue to transport Kenneth Olson, a carpenter, to Memorial Herman Hospital in Houston to re-attach fingers he lost while repairing a Hurricane Ike damaged home.
Bridge City Fire and Rescue personnel, the Bridge City Police Department and Acadiana Ambulance Service responded to an emergency call at 1180 Arthur Street at 4:35 p.m.
Olson was transported by ambulance to a vacant field on FM 408 where the rescue helicopter was landed. Surgeons are waiting in Houston to re-attach at least one finger.
