Manslaughter and robbery charges connected with two incidents in 2008 topped Orange County grand jury indictments released recently.

Individuals listed are from Orange, unless otherwise indicated, according to District Attorney John Kimbrough’s office.

David Carthel, 39, is charged with intoxication manslaughter,  He is accused in a June incident for allegedly driving into oncoming traffic on Farm Road 1130. An 18-year-old man died in the crash.

Charged with the aggravated robbery of three employees of Acapulco restaurant in August are Ronald Garlow, 18; Justan Janice, 20; and Eric Williams of Louisiana.
Also charged with aggravated robbery is Justin Lucian Smith, 26, accused of a knifepoint holdup at a fast food diner.

Other charges include:

Aggravated assault: Jerry Myers Sr., 41; and Jerry Myers Jr., 18; and in separate cases, Iris Dewayne Floyd, 29; and Norvin Culpepper, 28. Charged with aggravated assault and deadly conduct charge is Howard Hill, 61. 

Burglary of a building: Derek Winstead, 19, of Bridge City.

Burglary of a habitation: Juan Gutierrez, 36, of Vidor.

Felony theft: Jody Whitmire, 40, of Vidor; D’Wryne Guillory, 18; Samuel Mitchell, 38; and Tommy Edwards, 53, of Vidor.

Felony evading arrest: Mary Leatherwood, 62, of Vidor; John Groff, 29; and Derrick Daugherty, 31.

Felony possession of a controlled substance: Tony Adams, 48, of Vidor; David Court, 21, of Bridge City; and Marvus Turner, 26.

Felony prostitution: Annette Fulcher, 48.

Theft of a firearm and possession by a felon: John Jellison, 31.

Debit card abuse: Simon Anderson, 24, of Vidor.
