Deputies Tuesday sent to serve a man a warrant got a struggle they hadn’t bargained for.

Sheriffs arrived at the Orange County Community Supervision and Corrections Department on Farm Road 1442 at about 10:30 a.m., to serve a motion to revoke probation for burglary, reports showed.

Their suspect, 25, resisted custody restraints and was Tasered by one of the deputies. Still, the man was able to leave the building, get into his car and drive away, Lt. Dennis Marlow said in a release.

“A chase ensued, and the suspect’s vehicle was [seen] on Turtle Road in Mauriceville,” Marlow said. “The area was surrounded and a search initiated. The suspect was located in a house in the area, and taken into custody without further incident.”

The man has not been identified. He was booked into the Orange County jail for the initial warrant, and for the felony charge of resisting arrest / evading detention.
