JoAnn Vines Young, 52, of Orange, passed away Thursday, April 9, 2009 at Baptist Hospital in Orange.  Funeral services were Monday in the Chapel of Dorman Funeral Home in Orange.  Officiating was the Rev. Jeff Bell, pastor of Calvary Baptist Church in Port Acres.  Interment followed in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens near Bridge City. 

Born on June 18, 1956 in Shreveport, La. to Odies Harril Vines Sr. and Patty (Christie) Vines, she was a longtime resident of Orange, a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed camping, spending time with her family, especially her children and grandchildren. JoAnn was outgoing, outspoken and she had a very big heart.  

JoAnn is preceded in death by her parents, maternal grandmother, Elsie Dell Trussell; infant son, Jonathan; brothers, Patrick Vines and Odies Harril Vines Jr.; uncle, Bufford Vines; and nephews, Michael Vines and Lucas Vines.  

She is survived by her husband, Jack Dean Young Jr. of Orange; daughter, Christal Dell Ford of Orange; son, Christopher David Ford and his wife Sharon Renee of Orange; stepdaughter, Mary Catherine Young Muniz-E’strada and her husband, Destano of Jacksonville, Fla.; ather, Odies Harril Vines Sr. of Louisiana; stepson, Joseph Daniel Young of Jacksonville, Fla.; sister, Linda Gayle Vines of Orange; brothers, Anthony Glen Vines and his wife Lucinda of Bridge City and Marcus Wayne Vines and his wife Tara of Orange and five grandchildren.
