The Earth Day celebration held Saturday at Port Neches Park, was a success and the organizing group, “Seeds of Change” hope to make it an annual event.

MCT Credit Union was one of the sponsors with freebies for the kids. Their were several church groups, plants for sale, information on edible arrangements, representatives from Golden Triangle Body, Mind and Spirit, among others. Musical entertainment was provided under the pavilion by Mar Allen-Keating, Alicia and Ed Motter-Vlahakos.

At the conclusion of the day, there was a park pick-up. Colored index cards with numbers were hid abound the park and those that found them while picking up trash received a door prize ranging from restaurant gift certificates, live plants, and jewelry.

At times is was a little windy, but the temperature was cool and refreshing.
