Born in Beaumont in January, 1938; William “Bill” Cook died Monday, May 4, 2009, of throat cancer.

A rosary was said Thursday. Services and Mass were Friday from Claybar Funeral Home. Burial was in St. Mary Cemetery.

Mr. Cook graduated from Lamar University in 1962 as industrial engineer, owned and operated a gulf shrimp boat in Bolivar and was a member of the Orange group of Alcoholics Anonymous.

He was a devoted member of the Catholic Church and loved the Lord with all his heart. He was a member of square dance clubs but round dancing was his love.  He made many friends round dancing and considered them his extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William O. and Mary Sue (German) Cook, and his sister, Susan.

He is survived by his wife, Mazel Cook, and their children: Wayne Granger; Cindy Hudnall and husband Eric; Joseph White; Paul White and wife Tammy; Timmy White and wife Sherri; William “B.J.” Cook and wife Emily; Renee Whitaker and husband David.

He is loved by his 20 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
