Lady Cardinals pitcher Emilee Reed was on her game Friday night. The Bridge City sophomore pitched eight grueling innings against the Huffman Hargrave Lady Falcons. Reed then snapped the tie in the bottom of the eighth with a hit that scored Sara McPherson to win game one of the bi-district series, 4-3.

Pandemonium broke out in Lady Cardinal Stadium when McPherson crossed home plate bringing game-one of the series to an end in extra innings. The game had been grid locked 3-3 as the two playoff contenders battled to the end.

Congratulations to Lady Cardinal head coach Miste Henderson and assistants Alan Ashworth and George Navarro.

Game two begins Saturday at 1 p.m. at Huffman-Hargrave High School. Game three will follow if necessary. Try to go and cheer on the Lady Cardinals. If you can’t attend find final results of the series and photos here at THERECORDLIVE Saturday after the conclusion.
