Orange Community Players held registration for their Young People’s Theater Workshop which starts June 15. By noon Saturday, 58 excited young thespians had signed up for 60 available spots.

Registration was supposed to start at 10 a.m., “But they were waiting on me when I got here at 9,” said Codie Vásquez, Workshop director.

The youngsters will have classes the first week of the program and audition for parts in the production, “The Jungle Book Kids,” at the end of the week. The rest of the workshop will be held as rehearsals with performances scheduled for July 16-18.

Other upcoming productions will be Broadway Fun for Funds VI in early June to finish the 2008-2009 Season. Scheduled for 2009-2010 are Rodgers & Hammerstein’s “Cinderella” in August, In December will be “Christmas Belles,” the sequel to “Dearly Beloved,” An as yet to be determined drama directed by Brook Doss in February, and in May, a Comedy Musical “Urine Town,” directed by Kevin Doss.

Auditions for Fun for Funds is scheduled for Monday, May 11 at 7 p.m.

Come prepared with a musical number and accompaniment.
