Discount food packages

St. Mark Lutheran Church will take orders for the Angel Food Ministry discount food program through 3 p.m. June 12 at 925 Roundbunch Road.
The May menu features the signature box for $30, a senior convenience box with 10 fully-cooked heat and serve meals for $28; an allergen-free box with five pounds of breaded meats for $25 and a seafood box with six pounds of seafood for $35.
Available with either of the above are a seven-pound assorted meat grill box for $23; a four-and-a-half pound meat and chicken combo box for $22; an 11-pound chicken combo box for $22 and a “Latin Flowers” fresh fruit and veggie box for $22.
Full menus and order forms are available at the back door of the church next to the parking area. Return orders by mail to the church or bring to the church from noon to 3 p.m. June 12. Lone Star vouchers will be processed at that time.
Methods of payment include money order, cash, check or Lone Star vouchers. All payments are due at the time of order.

WOCCISD announces Summer Food Program
West Orange – Cove CISD will offer a Summer Food Program which provides a free breakfast and lunch to all children age 18 and younger. The program is available at three district campuses. No fee or registration is required. Breakfast and lunch will be served at the following locations/dates:
Anderson Elementary, 902 W. Park, June 3 – July 1
WO-S Middle School, 500 N. 13th St., June 3 – July 1.
WO-S High School, 1400 Newton St., June 15 – July 10
Meals will be served Monday through Friday. Breakfast will be served from 7:30 – 8 a.m. Lunch will be served from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Texas Federation of the Blind to meet

The public is invited to a meeting of the Texas Federation of the Blind to be held at 6 p.m., Thusday, June 18, at the Salvation Army located at the corner of Strickland Ave. and Martin Luther King Jr. Drive in Orange.
Edith Hirth, with the Deaf Action Center, a non-profit organization in Longview, will be the guest speaker. She will explain and demonstrate a program for persons blind, with low vision, mobility impairmets, speech impairments, and deaf/hard of hearing.
A law that was passed in the State of Texas 10 years ago, Specialized Telecommunications Assistance Program (STAP), offers free telephones and ring devices to any Texas resident that has difficulty using the telephone because of any disability.

For more than 60 years, the image of Colonel Harland Sanders has represented Kentucky Fried Chicken. Now, along with online partner MySpace, KFC is embarking on a worldwide search to identify the new face of Kentucky Grilled Chicken (KGC).
Are you the ultimate KGC fan? Whether it’s an uncanny resemblance to the Colonel, the ability to create a sculpture made of Kentucky Grilled Chicken buckets, or a story about what KGC means to you, fans can submit their videos through July 7 at
Three finalists will be selected and MySpace members will vote on the winner, who will receive Kentucky Grilled Chicken for life – valued at more than $13,000. In addition, the winner might have the opportunity to participate in KGC marketing activities.
