James Howard Pike, 81, of Orange, passed away Tuesday, June 23, 2009 in Port Arthur.  Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Dorman Funeral Home in Orange.  

Born on April 12, 1928 in Jacksonville, Texas to William L. Pike and Jessie Mae (Bailey) Pike, he was a resident of the Orange area since 1960. He worked for Dr. E.W. Brown as a laborer and later as a sales representative for Hardin and Lawler, both in Orange.  Mr. Pike was a simple man who enjoyed hunting and fishing. 

He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister.  

Mourning his death and cherishing his memory are his loving wife of 33 years, Lorine Pike of Orange; daughters, Susan Prayberry of Denton and Suzette Sparkman of Hillsboro, Ohio; sister, Cloye McKinney of Waco; brother, Ray Pike and his wife Patricia of Lufkin; grandsons, Tyler Bingham of Mauriceville and Brandon Bryan, Jr. of Hillsboro, Ohio.  Mr. Pike is also survived by three other grandchildren and numerous extended family.
