Homeowner confronts thieves at gunpoint in Little Cypress
Orange County Sheriff’s office received a call from 18790 Farm Road 1130 in Little Cypress around 1:48 p.m., Monday, reporting a burglary in progress. The resident said two white males had entered his garage and loaded eight air conditioner coils into a white Ford F-150 truck.
The homeowner confronted the men and held the two suspects at gunpoint until Orange County Deputies arrived.
Upon arrival, officers saw air conditioner coils in the back of the truck, which the homeowner identified as his and said they were removed from his garage.
The suspects were taken into custody and transported to the Orange County jail. All stolen items were returned to the owner. The suspects, identified as Thomas Norris, 31, and Brad Hoffman, 29, both of Vidor, were charged with attempted burglary of a residence.
At the correctional facility, Norris was found to be in possession of narcotics and was also charged with felony possession of a controlled substance.
Both suspects were arraigned with bond set at $10,000 each.
Norris’ narcotics offense resulted in an additional $5,000 bond.
