Orange Police officers were dispatched to the 1800 block of Barkins, Monday around 6 p.m. in reference to a gunshot victim. Upon arrival, officers were unable to locate a victim. 

According to Capt. J. P. Burns of the Orange Police Dept., just before 6:30 p.m., medical personal at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beamont verified that a 23-year-old male resident of Beaumont was brought to the emergency room by private vehicle from Orange. The man was suffering from a gunshot wound to the left leg, which was thought to be a non life threatening injury.

The investigation is ongoing by members of the Detective Division of the Orange Police Department.
