Robert Jackson Sr., 88, of Wimberley, died Thursday, July 2, 2009 at Deer Creek Nursing Home in Wimberly. Funeral services were Tuesday, at Ridgewood Church of Christ in Beaumont under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home of

A native of Ben Franklin, Texas, he lived in Vidor for 50 years before moving to Wimberley seven years ago. He was a retired process operator with Texaco Refinery. He served his country in the United States Army Air Corp during World War II. 

RJ was preceded in death by his parents, Luther and Syble Jackson; sister, Vada Hanssard; and a great-grandson, Edward Robert Bush.

He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Addie Ruth Jackson of Wimberley; son, Robert J. Jackson Jr of Sugarland; daughters, Linda Sparks and her husband Chester of Wimberley, Sheila Bush and her husband Mike of Boise, Idaho and Shelly Luman and her husband Redell of New Caney; eight grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.
