Imaginations soared as young artists created colorful masterpieces at last week’s Kidz Adventure Camp, sponsored by Faith United Methodist Church.  The camp session, ‘Art Alive’, found children painting a variety of creatures such as flamingos, fish, chameleons and doves.   Artists C. Delle Bates, Johnny Newman, and Mary Beth Hunt provided inspiration, encouragement and guidance to the young artists.  The children also had fun making colorful origami butterflies, acrylic bark paintings and clay sculptures.

Next Wednesday’s session, ‘Cool Science for Curious Kids’ will feature loads of discovery fun for inquisitive kids.  Children will participate in guided experiments and other neat projects.  Guest scientists will be on hand to lead the children in their discoveries. The final camp, ‘Crazy Days of Summer’ will be chocked full of colorful clown fun, kooky games, laughter and more!

Kidz Adventure Camp is a great way for kids, ages 5 to 12, to have fun with friends, learn something new, and stay cool during the summer heat. The camp is offered four Wednesdays during July, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Lorna Badon’s School of Fine Arts.  Registration and tuition information is available at, or by calling 746-9188.
