Texas Gov. Rick Perry visited Soldiers assigned to 4th Brigade, 1st Armored Division "Highlander" in Iraq, July 19. The group assembled in front of a mural depicting the famous Franklin Mountain Star in El Paso, Texas. 

Perry conducted a town hall meeting, presented awards, and dined with Soldiers at Contingency Operating Adder near Nasiriyah.

The 4th Brigade, 1st Armored Division is deployed to advise and assist Iraqi security forces in Dhi Qar, Maysan and Muthanna provinces.
