Jeanette M. Dubose, 87, of Winnie, died Sunday, Aug. 2, 2009, at the Arboretum of Winnie.

Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday from Broussard’s Mortuary, 134 W. Buccaneer Drive in Winnie with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery. A gathering of her family and friends will be from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at the mortuary.

A native of Sulphur, La., Mrs. Dubose was born Aug. 6, 1921, to Ovelia (LeBlanc) and Felix D. Mitchell and had lived in the Winnie area since 1958. She loved her family and enjoyed family gatherings. Mrs. Dubose enjoyed quilting, and was a member of the Tuesday Sewing Club. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Winnie. She was quite involved in a number of church and civic organizations, some of which include the Hospital Women’s Auxiliary where she was a former president, Women’s Civic Club, and Young at Heart.

Survivors include her sons, Robert E. Dubose Jr. and his wife Susie of Winnie, Mitchell D. Dubose and his wife Barbara of Paris, David LeRoy Dubose and his wife Harriet of Orange; daughter, Jan Elisabeth Hasson and her husband Vester of Winnie; 20 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Felix D. and Ovelia Mitchell; husband, Robert E. Dubose Sr.; sister, Pearl Lormand Barkat; and brother, Francis Daniel Mitchell.
